  • Preventing and Responding to Domestic & Sexual Violence in Later Life This Special Collection brings together selected materials related to preventing and responding to elder abuse, specifically domestic and sexual violence. In doing so, it draws from the work of the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life (NCALL), National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC), National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) and other organizations. By focusing specifically on domestic and sexual violence (DV/SV) in later life, this special collection highlights the complexities of older people's DV/SV experiences and emphasizes collaborative and multi-pronged approaches to addressing DV/SV in later life. Accordingly, the materials included in this special collection have been organized by their relevance to key stakeholders.

  • Amnesty International's Rape as a Weapon of War This web page profiles the use of rape and sexual violence as a weapon in conflict torn areas. girls as young as 8 are being victimized in war ravaged communities around the world. Articles, and web links for resources and statistics on this topic are available on this page.
  • Child and Women's Abuse Study Unit (CWASU) CWASU, originally The Child Abuse Studies Unit, was established in 1987. Among other activities, CWASU conducts independent research, and undertakes training programes, consultancy, networking, with the overall aim in the short term to advocate for sanctuary for children and women who have been victimised and sanctions for perpetrators, and in the longer term seeks to eradicate violence and abuse.

  • Global Technical Consultation on Female Genital Cutting/Mutilation The Global Technical Consultation on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting brought together a wide range of development partners to share their experiences on how to address this global concern from many perspectives—human rights, health, culture, gender and politics. At the UNFPA-sponsored forum, development partners, research institutions, funding agencies and civil society organizations developed strategies and worked on a road map for the elimination of FGM/C.

  • Mending the Sacred Hoop Technical Assistance Project MSH-TA is a Native American program that provides training and technical assistance to our American Indian and Alaskan Native relations in the effort to eliminate violence in the lives of women and their children. We work with villages, reservations, rancherias and pueblos across the United States to improve the justice system, law enforcement, and service provider response to the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in Native communities.
  • Minnestoa Center Against Violence and Abuse Is a site devoted to research, education and access to violence related sources. It is an electronic clearinghouse with access to over 3000 resources. There are articles & research, training resources, multimedia, bibliographies are available through the site. Also provided is access to organizations, service providers, experts, courses and research centers. An events calendar is on line, as well as job opportunities, and funding opportunities.
  • National Center for Trauma Informed Care The National Center for Trauma-Informed Care (NCTIC) offers free and low-cost trauma training and technical assistance to publicly-funded programs and systems. NCTIC also provides education and outreach, a speakers bureau, and resources to stimulate and support change to address the trauma experienced by so many survivors. NCTIC tailors its training and technical assistance to support your organization in taking this important step forward.   • National Clearinghouse on Family Violence On behalf of the Government of Canada and its Family Violence Initiative (FVI), the Public Health Agency of Canada operates the National Clearinghouse on Family Violence (NCFV). The NCFV is Canada’s resource centre for information on violence within relationships of kinship, intimacy, dependency or trust.

  • National On Line Resource Center on Violence Against Women is an on line resource site for people working to end domestic violence, sexual assault and other violence in the lives of women and their children. There is an events section, research intiatives, grants and funding resource area, as well as sexual and domestic violence resources. Vawnet e newsletter can be subscribed to through the site as well as funding alerts notification.
  • National Stalking Resource Center Hosted by the National Center for Victims of Crime, this site offers resources and information on the crime of stalking. This includes, stalking laws, court cases, materials for victims, publications, stalking in the news, and publications.

  • Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape As one of the oldest coalitions in the country, the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) is an organization working at the state and national levels to prevent sexual violence. Incepted in 1975, PCAR continues to use its voice to challenge public attitudes, raise public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy, protocols, and responses to sexual violence.
  • Preventing Violence Through Education, Networking and Technical Assistance PREVENT is supported by a cooperative agreement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is operated by The University of North Carolina Injury Prevention Research Center. PREVENT offers educational programs to train individuals and organizations to prevent violence before it begins. They include, the intensive PREVENT Institute and distance learning resources. PREVENT hopes to foster new and more effective partnerships as an outcome of networking opportunities. PREVENT provides short-term and ongoing technical assistance from experienced advisors to help individuals and teams improve both their on-the-job skills and their organizations capacity to prevent violence.
  • Quick Health Data On Line The system provides state- and county-level data for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and US territories and possessions. Data are available by gender, race and ethnicity and come from a variety of national and state sources. The system is organized into eleven main categories, including demographics, mortality, natality, reproductive health, violence, prevention, disease and mental health. Within each main category, there are numerous subcategories.

  • Sacred Circle: National Resource Center to End Violence Against Women, Cangleska, Inc. Sacred Circle, a project of Cangleska, Inc., is funded by the Administration for Children and Families, Family and Youth Services Bureau, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The information distributed in this activity by Sacred Circle is part of our effort to provide training and technical assistance to Native Nations and tribal organizations seeking to end violence against Native women.   • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Response Team (SANE/SART) website SARS has made a firm commitment to SANE-SART program evaluation research as the only means of ensuring that SANE-SART program development is evidence-based. As a result, SARS has conducted extensive research on sexual assault impact and treatment efficacy, evidence collection, as well as program process and outcome research. Through leading technical assistance workshops, conducting SANE-SART trainings and writing "The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Development and Operation Guide" (OVC: 1999), SARS has helped communities across the country develop SANE-SART programs. The goal of this Web site is to provide information and technical assistance to individuals and institutions interested in developing new SANE-SART programs or improving existing ones.
  • SANE Program Sustainability Project NSVRC SANE Sustainability project web page. The project aims to build sustainable SANE programs by increasing access to information, building SANE program staff capacity and enhancing collaborative efforts between victim advocates and forensic nurses. The web site will be updated with new resources frequently.
  • Sexual Violence Research Intiative Sexual violence is a violation of human rights and a serious public health problem. It has a profound impact on physical and mental health, both immediately and many years after the assault. To date, sexual violence has received insufficient attention from researchers, policy-makers and programme designers and it has been a long struggle to have it recognised as a legitimate public health issue. The Sexual Violence Research Initiative is committed to action to address these gaps. Information on research, funding, and events is highlighted on the site. E-mail newsletters are available for updated articles and the latest information on the global response to sexual violence.
  • Texas Attorney Generals Sexual Assault Prevention and Crisis Services The Sexual Assault Prevention and Crisis Services (SAPCS) is a program of the Crime Victim Services Division of the Office of the Attorney General. Services offered by SAPCS include: Funding and technical assistance to sexual assault programs and some special projects throughout the state; Technical support for data collection; Establishing Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs) in communities; Certifying Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs); Certifying sexual assault volunteer training programs. SAPCS is also mandated to provide the protocol for sexual assault forensic evidence collection and the pseudonym form for survivors of sexual assault who do not wish to reveal their identities.
  • The Hague Domestic Violence Project The Hague DV study web site is designed to improve our understanding of the situation of women who have come into the United States with their children after leaving an abusive relationship in another country and who then become involved in a legal dispute under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of Child Abduction. Very little information is available to explain the situation of women who have dealt with domestic violence and been involved with Hague cases. Our goal is to use the information we gain to create a guide for judges and attorneys that will help them to recognize domestic violence in Hague cases and respond to better ensure safety and justice for mothers and their children. This study includes interviews with mothers, as well as the attorneys and judges for participation through published legal records in Hague-related cases, and through contacts with attorneys and women who have been a part of these cases.
  • The National Center for Prosecution of Violence Against Women Publications The National District Attorney's Association's free downloadable publications on the prosecution of violence against women. There are additional resources also available on this site.
  • The Prevention Connection's Violence Against Women Wiki Project This website is Primary Prevention's project dedicated to advancing the prevention of violence against women, especially primary prevention. As a wiki dedicated to the same goal, the Prevention Connection Wiki Project is a place to collect and share experiences gained in the practice, theory, research and evaluation of violence against women prevention efforts. Although it can be read by anyone, the intended audience for this wiki is professionals and others dedicated to prevention efforts. There is a wide breadth of knowledge from practitioners and researchers throughout the country and world. Most of the knowledge, materials and insights about violence against women prevention are typically not published in written reports, journal articles or books. Instead, the wisdom of violence against women prevention exists in the heads of people doing the work day-to-day. A wiki is a medium to share, refine and add to the practical experience of practitioners and engage in a collective “evidence-building” process.
  • The Supreme Court of California Legal Glossaries This web site provides access to pdf form legal glossaries in 12 different languages.
  • VAWA Forensic Compliance Technical Assistance Project. This technical assistance project, operated from the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault is designed to research and provide assistance to states implementing VAWA 2005. A toolkit for states will identify promising practices for responding to compliance with these regulations.
  • VAWnet E-Newsletter VAWnet's E-Newsletter provides monthly updates on new resources available online, and is intended for wide distribution. Those interested in signing up to receive E-Newsletters can contact VAWnet by phone at (800) 537-2238 or by using the online contact form.
  • VAWnet Human Trafficking Special Collection VAWnet has added a new Special Collection on Human Trafficking where the effort is made to illuminate different forms of, and perspectives on, human trafficking. There are also relevant resources to help guide more informed and critical advocacy, research, and thought.
  • Victims Rights Database This links to an online database that includes more than 15,000 victims' rights statutes (Federal and State), tribal laws, constitutional amendments, court rules, and administrative code provisions—developed by the National Center for Victims of Crime with funding from OVC.
  • WHO Department of Reproductive Health and Research Web Page on Female Genital Mutilation This web page offers consolidated information on research and activities addressing female genital mutilation.
  • Woman Stats Project The WomanStats Project collects data on all countries with a population greater than 200,000--a total of 172 countries. We code 243 variables on data that includes laws, statistics, and practices within countries; the information available ranges from data on domestic violence to female landownership to political participation. All of this data is available to the public for free, and the information on the site is continually updated as newer information becomes available
