Survivors of sexual assault often have limited access to specialized sexual assault services- and this can be especially true in rural areas.  Advocacy programs in rural areas are often faced with challenges when their hospitals or clinics turn survivors away and/or send them to other facilities where there may be SANE services.  In many cases programs are unable to convince the hospital to care for survivors locally or find hospitals unwilling to create SANE programs due to limited capacity to provide those services. Join Kim Day from the International Association of Forensic Nurses for this webinar which will provide information on the importance of healthcare access after sexual assault, the obligations of healthcare facilities to provide that care, and talking points to use when working with healthcare providers in rural areas.

The events listed are provided as a service for providers. SAFEta, the IAFN, and the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women do not endorse any programs listed.
