 SANE Program Managers

Especially for SANE Program Managers

The SAFEta source web site is designed for multidisciplinary team members who are caring for victims of sexual assault. Although all areas of the site are accessible, there are certain areas of the site that may have more appeal to specific disciplines. The following resources may be useful to program managers and coordinators who are running SANE Programs.

SANE Program Development and Operation Guide

The Office for Victims of Crime is pleased to announce the SANE Program Development and Operation Guide.

  • Available Online so the Guide can be continually updated with new resources.
  • Mobile optimized for easy access via tablet or smartphone.
  • Fully updated with new research and innovative practices.
  • All the latest information you need to create a new SANE program or enhance an existing one.
  • Reorganized around 5 key principles: trauma-informed, patient-centered care, multidisciplinary approach, community uniqueness, and evidence-based practice.

Check out the Guide to see how it can help improve your SANE program and ensure that all sexual assault victims receive the highest standard of patient-centered care.

Program Expansion Resources

There may come a time in the evolution of a SANE Program, where consideration is given to expanding forensic healthcare services offered to include a wider range of patient populations.  Considering program expansion should be done in a measured process, to assure facility support, program staff support and community support.
