The photographic documentation of evidence and injuries on the bodies of sexual assault victims is important in the prosecution of sexual assaults and other crimes such as homicides involving sexual assaults.  Having well exposed, properly composed photographic images to show the judge or jury can mean the difference between a good witness and a great one.

Join us for this one-day, hands-on workshop led by Heidi Nichols, CFPH, Forensic Photographer with the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department.  Ms. Nichols brings extensive experience in autopsy and gross specimen photography, crime scene photography, and evidence photography.  She earned her BA in Biomedical and Forensic Photography, and her work has appeared in several textbooks and journals.

The Sexual Assault Photography Workshop provides instruction in the use of the digital camera to document injuries and trace evidence recovered on the body of the sexual assault victim.  Techniques covered in this course include the use of the Alternate Light Source to locate and photograph trace evidence such as hair, fibers, and body fluids on clothing and on the body of the victim.

Your photography will speak volumes in the courtroom.  Won't you join us to make sure those words are loud and clear?
