Prevention Resources

A component of the work of community coordinated response teams is to provide coordinated response to sexual assault.  Some of that work includes prevention of future sexual violence within the community.  The resources on this page are geared toward supporting prevention education and outreach for team members who are working to promote and improve their comprehensive response to victims.

Eleven Ways to Boost Your Work With News Media How you can help the media report prevention of violence against women.  A practical guide for violence against women sector workers from Domestic Violence Victoria in partnership with the EVA Media Action Group. 


STOP SV: A Technical Package to Prevent Sexual Violence. From the CDC.  This is a collection of strategies that represent the best available evidence to prevent or reduce public health issues like violence.  The package consists of 3 parts: A strategy, approach and evidence for each of these approaches. 


Rape Prevention and Education Resources.  From the NSVRC. The prevention resource collection from the NSVRC consists of key prevention documents, tools, resources and evaluation approaches and strategies. 


Overview of Trauma-Focused, evidence-based assessment tools from the Office of Justice Programs, and Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center.


Children's Advocacy Centers Safety Assessment. This workshop will provide CAC staff members with guidelines to implement effective measures and response plans to ensure safety of staff and the children. Specifically, how to conduct a workplace violence risk assessment, creating procedures for responding to, reporting and investigating violence.
