SOAR for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners

(SANE) Training


Attend a FREE, 1-day training on how to recognize, identify, screen for, and respond to human trafficking in a trauma-informed way. The training is intended for SANE, Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SAFE), or forensic nurse examiners or other health care providers who work with trafficking patients.

 

After completing the training, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the nature and scope of trafficking
  • Describe the risk factors for individuals who are at risk of trafficking
  • Recognize verbal and nonverbal indicators of trafficking
  • Assess the needs of individuals who have experienced trafficking and deliver appropriate health care services
  • Identify trauma-informed screening tools and techniques for use by health care providers
  • Coordinate services in a multidisciplinary network

The International Association of Forensic Nurses is a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Upon completing this course and the course evaluation, you will receive 7.41 continuing education nursing contact hours.
