TRIBAL PRECEPTORSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

IAFN has partnered with Providence Health & Services and UCHealth Memorial Hospital to offer the SANE Tribal Preceptorship Scholarship Program. This scholarship will allow didactically prepared SANEs the opportunity to obtain clinical experience while being precepted by an experienced SANE. As a result of this opportunity, there will be increased access to SANEs providing care to American Indian and Alaska Native patients that have experienced sexual assault.
Eligibility Criteria:- Unencumbered licensure as a Registered or Advanced Practice Nurse; and
- Completion of an approved IAFN adult/adolescent SANE didactic training program in the last year; and
- Work serving and responding to American Indian and Alaska Native people who have experienced sexual assault.
- Currently, this opportunity is available for nurses in programs at facilities that are fully run by Tribes and those in programs at facilities that are under a 638 contract/compact.
- NOTE: Nurses that are federal employees of Indian Health Services are not eligible.

Nurses who qualify will be able to participate in up to 4-days of an on-site clinical experience. Scholarships cover the cost of roundtrip airfare/mileage, lodging, M & IE.
